New weekly flight from Amsterdam to Kittilä opens access to Finnish Lapland starting November 2025

This winter, KLM is expanding its Northern Europe network with a brand-new seasonal destination: Kittilä, in Finnish Lapland. Starting 23 November 2025, the airline will operate weekly flights every Sunday between Amsterdam (AMS) and Kittilä Airport (KTT), offering travelers a direct route into one of Europe’s most magical winter regions.

Gateway to winter adventure

Kittilä lies in the heart of Finnish Lapland and serves as a key access point to the ski resorts of Levi and Ylläs. With its snow-covered landscapes and crisp Arctic air, the region is a dream destination for winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Popular activities include:

  • Alpine and cross-country skiing
  • Northern lights excursions
  • Reindeer and husky safaris
  • Snowshoeing and
  • snowmobiling

Whether you're seeking adrenaline or serenity, Kittilä offers a full spectrum of authentic Arctic experiences.

  • KL1262 Kittilä → Amsterdam | 17:10 – 19:20 (local time)

Strategic strengthening of Lapland connections

KLM’s launch of this new route reflects a growing demand for winter travel to the Far North. Alongside Kittilä, the airline is also increasing its flights to Rovaniemi from three to four weekly connections (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday). This dual-access strategy provides travelers with even greater flexibility to explore Lapland’s diverse regions.
