HX Expeditions is expanding its Greenland portfolio for the 2026/27 season, placing a stronger emphasis on immersive experiences developed in close collaboration with local communities.
A key element is the continuation of the culinary concept “The Taste of Greenland,” which connects travelers with local culture through regional ingredients and contemporary interpretations – directly onboard expedition ships.
Among the new additions is a combined fishing and cooking experience in Ilulissat. Guests catch fish using traditional methods, visit a local home for a kaffemik, and finish the day with a meal based on their own catch. Another highlight is a multi-day small-group adventure in South Greenland, combining hiking, remote camp stays, and guided storytelling – designed to go beyond standard expedition formats.
The program is further enhanced by:
guided hikes with local Inuit partners
kayaking experiences for different skill levels
boat excursions to unique natural sites
Local collaboration is becoming essential
Partnerships with communities are now a core part of product design.
Experiences are becoming more curated
Small-group and exclusive formats continue to gain traction.
Storytelling is part of the product
Food, nature, and cultural encounters are increasingly interconnected.
With this update, HX Expeditions reinforces a broader shift in the market: from standard itineraries to deeper, experience-driven travel. For tour operators, this highlights the importance of integrating authentic, locally grounded elements into their own product design.
