First Camp, the leading camping and resort group in Northern Europe, has entered an agreement to acquire Camp Ripan, a well-established year-round destination in Kiruna, northern Sweden. The resort combines hotel rooms, cabins, spa facilities, dining and a wide range of winter and summer experiences.
Camp Ripan has built a strong reputation for high guest satisfaction and for offering a complete Arctic hospitality concept. Its central location in Kiruna and broad portfolio make it a strategic addition to First Camp’s growing northern network.
The deal comes shortly after the company’s acquisition of Apukka Resort in Finnish Lapland. Together, these investments significantly expand First Camp’s position in a region with rising international demand for winter travel, outdoor activities and year-round nature-based tourism.
Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp Group, comments: “Camp Ripan delivers high-quality guest experiences and holds a strong position in the Arctic market. Following our acquisition of Apukka Resort, this deal reinforces our long-term strategy in one of Europe’s fastest-growing tourism segments. We see an excellent cultural and operational match with the Camp Ripan team and look forward to developing the destination together.”
Camp Ripan will remain under the leadership of its current team after the acquisition. This ensures continuity for guests, employees, partners and the wider local community.
The acquiring company sits outside the First Camp Group as defined in the 2024 bond terms. Therefore, First Camp Group AB’s bondholders are not directly affected by the transaction.
The final closing is anticipated in Q4 2025, subject to customary processes and approvals.
