This year, Iceland’s Northern Lights season begins earlier than usual: Starting on August 25, Arctic Adventures will run its popular evening tours from Reykjavík.
The early start is linked to the current solar maximum – a rare astronomical phenomenon that occurs only once every eleven years. It makes the auroras appear brighter, more frequent, and more colorful. Arctic Adventures expects potentially spectacular displays throughout the season, which runs until mid-April.
Travelers can look forward to small group sizes, expert local guides, and comfortable transportation in minibuses or super-jeeps. If the Northern Lights do not appear, guests benefit from an Aurora guarantee: free retries for up to three years.
