New direct flights from Vienna and Frankfurt to Finnish Lapland in the 2024/2025 winter season

Both Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines are adding new routes to Finnish Lapland to their flight schedules next winter. Lufthansa will be flying from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi for the first time and Austrian Airlines is adding Ivalo to its Finnish Lapland services.

For the first time, from 30 November 2024 until March, Lufthansa will fly from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. With the introduction of the new connection to Rovaniemi, Lufthansa is building on its previous success story in Finland; the hometown of Santa Claus located at the Arctic Circle is the sixth Finnish destination alongside Helsinki, Oulu, Kittilä, Kuusamo and Ivalo.

For Austrian Airlines, Ivalo, a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts, is the third winter destination in Finnish Lapland. The routes to Kittilä and Rovaniemi were already added to the flight schedule last winter. Flights from Vienna to Ivalo are scheduled every Saturday from January to March.
