Canadian concept blends activity, gaming, and digital technology – first location in Sweden and the Nordics

A new attraction is coming to Gothenburg: The Canadian interactive entertainment brand Activate will open its first Nordic venue at Nordstan shopping centre in early 2026.

Interactive challenges for everyone

Covering 733 square metres, the center features multiple game zones where physical activity meets digital play in challenge-based experiences. The concept is designed for a wide audience – from families and students to young people and corporate groups seeking teambuilding activities.

Global success, Nordic debut

With more than 65 venues across the USA, Canada, the UK, and Dubai, Activate is now expanding into Scandinavia. “Gothenburg offers the perfect setting to reach both everyday visitors and groups looking for a new kind of activity,” says Håvard Olstad, CEO of Activate Games Scandinavia.

A boost for Gothenburg city centre

For the city, the new venue also adds value to its urban offering. “Activate brings something entirely new to Nordstan and aligns with our ambition to create vibrant meeting places with retail, culture, and experiences,” says Malin Måhlin, Leasing Manager Gothenburg at Hufvudstaden.
