In northern Finland, Iso-Syöte is the country’s southernmost fell region. Located on top of the 435m fell Hotel Iso-Syöte offers a friendly and special atmosphere to appreciate comfortable stays, fantastic panorama views, unforgettable experiences and adventures in a serene unspoiled natural environment.

Service
We are running this company, Hotel Iso Syöte & Safaris, as a DMC where the total concept of accommodation, hospitality, activities, restaurant services and unique tailor-made programs are combined, always making use of the peace, space and possibilities of our natural surroundings and wild nature.

Located in the triangle of the three main airports of Lapland (Rovaniemi, Oulu and Kuusamo) means that Iso Syöte is always within easy reach.

The hotel
There are 30 double rooms mostly with a splendid view over the forest and valley below, 20 real Finnish kelo cottages made of full round pine-logs and 16 big family cottages on the very top of the hill. All cottages are fully equipped and clients can enjoy the warm comfort of their own sauna and fireplace in the cottages.

Nature & Activities
Our safaris take you on adventurous trips to discover the area. In winter, when all is heavily covered under a thick layer of glimmering snow you can enjoy snowmobile tours, ice rally drives, husky and reindeer sledge rides, snowshoe hikes, ice fishing trips or downhill and cross country skiing straight from the hotel or the cottages. In summer we explore nature by hiking, canoeing on lakes and rivers, quad bike tours through the forest, reindeer farm/husky farm visits and campfire diners in the open air under the midnight sun.

ITB 2010

The world’s biggest tourism fair, the ITB in Berlin, is getting closer – and NordicMarketing is going to be there as well! We are extremely proud that this year we will have Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian exhibitors joining us. Under the theme Arctic Experience & Nordic Oddity you find enterpreneurs from Lapland, the city of Helsinki and our ITB-novelty Kymi Region. New is also our stand in hall 18, stand 108, directly next to SAS.

Oulu Airport – Syöte
In Syöte there are various kinds of activities and places to experience. The National Park spreads over an area of 299 km². The beautiful, wild landscape is covered with marshes and hills with spruce forests. There are a range of different guided hikes organised in the National Park – lasting for even several days. There is also an opportunity to hike on your own or with your friends along our marked hiking trails.

Oulu Airport – Suomutunturi
A wintery skiing weekend in Suomutunturi offers its visitors a one night stay in the Hotel Suomutunturi and a ticket for the ski lift for one day. Depart on Saturday and breakfast is also included on Sunday. Minimum 15 participants.

Oulu Region: National park & recreation centre – Rokua

In Rokua you have the possibility to experience the magnificent landscape of Northern Finland. Clean air and the exceptional nature of Rokua provide excellent opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, skiing and fishing. There is something for everyone all around the year. The excellent skiing and hiking routes, of the Rokua National Park and the Suppa guiding centre make the region Rokua one of the most popular holiday destinations for nature lovers and active travellers.

Accommodation
The 2 hotels, Rokua Spa & Wellness Hotel and Hotel Rokuanhovi can accommodate ca. 400 guests. Furthermore 40 holiday cabins are available.

Winter activities
Cross-country skiing (ca. 50 km skiing tracks), snowshoe hiking, ice fishing, mini snow golf, snowmobile safaris, guided nature trekking, winter swimming.

Summer activities
