A small round trip through Kymi region and its lively cities on the shore of the Baltic Sea and Kymijoki River. Add further activities with an optional Nature or History programme and explore the peculiarities of the region. 1. day – Kotka
Guided tour departing from the hotel (Sapokka Water park, Sibelius park, Statue park Lehmusbulevardi and Katariina Sea park, lunch, boat cruise through the archipelago of the Baltic Sea

2. day – Kouvola
National Park Repovesi: boat cruise and a small hiking tour including snacks and lunch.

1. day- Kotka
Langinkoski imperial fishing lodge, departure from Hotel, imperial Kotka and fortress of Ruotsinsalmi, lunch, old Hamina including drama guiding in the museum

2. day- In Kouvola
World heritage site Verla: Boat trip and guided museum tour through the old mill factory of Verla, coffee break

Kymi Region: Maritime Centre Vellamo

Welcome to the Maritime Centre Vellamo. A must when you visit Kymi Region, a unique meeting place for everyone interested in Finnish maritime history and culture of Kymenlaakso. The wave-like building houses the Maritime Museum of Finland, Museum of Kymenlaakso and Information Centre Vellamo. By climbing up to “the ridge of the wave” one will be rewarded with great scenic views of Kotka, the port and the sea.

The Maritime Museum of Finland: Main exhibition ”North Star, Southern Cross”. Go on a time journey through the history of seafaring in Finland.

The Museum of Kymenlaakso: Main exhibition ”Flow” tells about the regions history, present and the future of everyday life by the flow of Kymijoki river.

Information Centre Vellamo: Archival and library services to researchers, students and other interested persons. The material helps to advance the things experienced in the exhibitions.
