The Night of the Cats in Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki was a big success last year. That is why the zoo received the Best of Helsinki Award 2009 in the category of Best Family Resort & Fun. Also during day time the zoo offers exciting insights into the lives of the zoo animals and provides its visitors with information about protection and habitats of exotic animal species. And for sure, the Night of the Cats takes place also this year.

10 % of the world population visits a zoo yearly. That is why every zoo, also Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki, has a special educational task, which is taken seriously and visitors appreciate that. There are many different exhibitions and campaigns in Korkeasaari Zoo. In 2010, the year of the tiger visitors can donate a part of their ticket price to the tiger campaign.

Visitors interested in the Night of the Cats reserve the dates 3rd and 10th of September. Then you can marvel at the tigers, lions and co. again until midnight.

The Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki is open year-round.

  • May-August 10 am-8 pm
  • September 10 am-6 pm
  • October-March 10am-4 pm
  • April 10 am-6 pm
