Hullu Poro: Green Commitment – Green Start
Posted on 02.02.2010 in Accommodation, Culture, Destination, Highlights, Hotel, Levi
The Hotel Hullu Poro launched the “Green Start”-programme. Many guests praised the improvements in quality of accommodation during the past few years. However, there is still room for more environmental improvement and therefore Hullu Poro has adressed its own environment team for this mission. With “Green Start” the hotel is showing its respect towards the unique nature of Northern Finland.
The traditional hotel and its Northern Lights farm Taivaanvalkeat have adopted responsible management. According to owner and founder Päivikki Palosaari small things can already do a big difference for the nature and it’s the nature that is the most important resource for Lapland.
Small things, big influence in Hotel Hullu Poro, for example:
- active recycling
- environmentally friendly washing and cleaning products
- local staff
- locally produced services, products and food
- water-saving showers
- paper-saving office
“Green Start” is only the beginning. Many new ideas are still to come in order to ensure the guests a comfortable stay in Hotel Hullu Poro.
