The Arktikum in Rovaniemi provides a unique insight into the way of life, culture and history of the North. It is a museum, science centre, popular cultural venue and an impressive architectural sight in its own right. The exhibitions portray culture, history, traditions and modern life in the Arctic regions. The Arktikum introduces the great adventure of Finnish Lapland and the Arctic areas to the whole family.
Arktikum’s Familiy Special
The exhibitions take the visitor on a journey from the past and to the present day and explore the characteristics of the Arctic lifestyle as well as the Arctic’s influence on our lives. Living with the nature, surrounded by the nearly all-year-round winter, ice and snow has created many destinies. The tales of people from the Arctic areas, ways of surviving and the rich cultural heritage created by the northern folk are presented in Arktikum’s exhibition halls for everyone to see. In Arktikum time stops – and goes by, faster than one can imagine.
Price for the family special: 25 €/family (2 adults, 2 children 7-15 years old + all children under 7 years)
After the exhibition adventure the family can enjoy the daily soup in the café. The soup includes salad, bread and spread, water and also coffee or tea. In addition, the café’s selection includes delicious pastries and Lappish tapas.
Price for soup lunch: 8,50 €/adult and 6,50 €/child
Prices are valid until 31.12.2009.
